Mac平台的Office 2008将会有三个版本。标准版的名称是Office 2008 for Mac，它包含了PowerPoint，Word，Excel和Entourage，售价为399美元。售价为499美元的Special Media Edition在标准版的基础上增加了Expression Media数字媒体编目工具。

　　不论是标准版或特别版的Office 2008都可以链接Exchange Server并提供了部分针对Mac OS X系统中集成的脚本工具Automator的功能。

　　家庭版和学生版的Office 2008包含了基本的四个主程序，但不能链接Exchange或Automator。针对非商业应用的家庭版最多支持三台Mac的安装，售价为149美元。

　　微软在上个月宣布了把Office 2008延迟到明年1月推出。微软市场推广经理Amanda Lefebvre表示，微软正按这个修改过的计划进行，计划在12月完成编码测试并在1月15号推出最终产品。首发的当然是英文版，其它语言版的会陆续在明年第一季度推出。

　　Office 2008将会是第一个原生支持基于Intel处理器的Mac系统的Office，同时它也能运行在以前版本的基于PowerPC的系统中。

　　微软正在推行一个技术保障计划，通过这个计划，凡是从现在起到明年3月15号期间购买Mac平台的Office 2004的用户只需约10美元的价格就可以升级到Office 2008相应的版本。
